Let’s face it, there is nothing quite like a well-deserved beverage after a long, hard day in the office. The initial cheers, the first few gulps and the quick overview of the latest office news; a truly glorious occasion.

The location for such an occasion? Well, we all have our favourites but don’t you get that niggling urge you’re missing out, and the world’s best ever bar could be just around the corner, completely unknown to you?

To help ease the niggles we have put together a list of top bars in Zone 1 for getting the team together and heading out for a quick one or two post work. We may provide IT support in London, but we like to think that we don’t just know our hardware from our software, but also our Gordon’s from our Hendrick’s…

The Remedy

A non-pretentious wine bar is hard to come by but this place, set up by three close friends, is certainly that. The Remedy does what it says on the tin; the perfect cure to unwind. “We’re not doctors but we’re pretty sure a glass of great wine and a bite to eat can solve (just about) any problem”, reads their website, and who are we to disagree.

One for the big occasion; a new business win, a promotion or if the boss is simply feeling generous. Admittedly not the local watering hole, but this place was too fancy not too include.

The Melia boast a roof terrace offering staggering views of the London skyline. Be sure to book in advance and to dress to impress.

Copa De Cava

This place will make you rethink the way you view cava, and that is purely down to the immaculate way they match the tapas to accompany the fizz. The knowledgably staff are right on hand to guide you and help contribute to the relaxed vibe.

Most cava comes from Penedès in Catalunya and is made in the método tradicional (like Champagne). This long and laborious process gives an incredible range and complexity. As said, you’ll me strolling out of the Copa De Cava with a new found love for the fizzy stuff.

Adventure Bar Covent Garden

Yes, a chain, but all these bars are great – especially the one in the heart of Convent Garden. A real all-rounder, from drinking, eating and partying you really can’t go wrong.

What makes this place so exceptional is they seem to really look after their customers; the staff are on point and seem determined to make sure you have a good time. Mix this with the extremely generous happy hour; offering reduced drinks at peak times this is a great shout for a Thursday evening knees up.

Bunch of Grapes

And we finish with one for the beer lovers. Bunch of Grapes stocks a range of local lagers. The pub has three good sized areas; a downstairs bar, a slightly more dining room feel to the upstairs and a decent (covered) beer garden at the back.

If you intended for just one, knowing full well you need to be home for dinner, then enter with caution; it will trap you in – in a very good way.
